Assignment 2b - PASS Formula
Provide an evaluation of every song in your Meeting Outlines (Praise and Worship and Songbook) using the PASS formula.
Below is a check list that will assist you in this. You should answer the following questions in regard to each song, paying particular attention to the lyrics (language and content).
a Is the song Personal? Does it relate in some way to people’s everyday lives and involve their whole being, including their emotions?
a Is the song Attractive? Does it hold people’s attention?
a Is the song Straightforward? Would both “Seeker Bob” and “Saintly Bill” understand and latch onto it quickly?
a Is the song Substantive? Does it have a thoroughly biblical message that is faithful to the whole counsel of Scripture (and Army Doctrine)?
a Is it effective, in-between, or ineffective as a cross-cultural song (i.e. believers and non believers)?
The grade for this assignment is reflected in the grade of assignment 2a, Meeting Outlines.
This assignment is due by Friday, November 10th.
Late assignments will be docked 5% for each day late, up to a maximum deduction of 20%. Assignments not turned in by Tuesday, November 14th will not be accepted and will count for zero points.
